Service learning is an integral part of our school's philosophy and is embodied in the Ephebic Oath we affirm each year. Our ability to be a resource for those in need is more urgent and important than ever, but due to covid-19 many of us are restricted from leaving our homes to perform acts of service. To help accommodate these restrictions, the community service guidelines have been amended for the 2020-2021 school year. For more information about the community service guidelines as well as information about virtual and in person opportunities, please read the Handbook on Community Service and Co-Curricular Activities. This document will serve as a guide to lead you through the process of completing and logging your service hours as well. Recording your hours appropriately is important for earning credit.

Service and Activism Workshops

Service and activism are powerful tools that can help you gain experience, develop skills, and transform your community! To foster student engagement in these practices, all students are invited to attend The Service and Activism Workshop Series. Different workshops will take place each month and will bring students and nonprofit organizations together to talk about issues that affect volunteers, share their knowledge and ideas regarding service and activism, provide networking opportunities, and more! These unique experiences will provide an opportunity for students to learn from community experts on the topics that matter most to them as well as meet others who share their passion for activism, service, and justice.

The November and December workshops are described below. Details about future workshops will be sent out each month. Please register if you would like to attend one of the November or December workshops. Zoom information will be sent to those who are registered.
