PE Rules, Regulations, and Uniform Information
1. ATTIRE
The attire for Physical Education is sneakers, socks, PE T-shirts, PE shorts, PE sweatpants, PE sweatshirt. Please note that hats, do rags, bandanas, and hoods are not to be worn during class. Students must be prepared to participate in class activities every day. If on a given day, a student is unable to participate in strenuous activity and has a legitimate doctor's note and/or parent-guardian note, he/she may be excused for the day after DRESSING for the class.
2. JEWELRY & TECHNOLOGY
- Wearing of jewelry is not allowed during any physical education class
Ornaments that may interfere with physical activity or the safety of other students may not be worn in the gymnasium. (No earrings, rings, bracelets, watches, wristbands, chains, or necklaces). Cell phones & Headphones/Ear Buds are not permitted to be used during any physical education activity unless instructed to do so
3. SAFETY IN LOCKER ROOM AND GYM AREAS
- Gum chewing and food not permitted
- Glass containers not permitted
- Misconduct and/or loitering will be dealt with by the Deans
- Students are not permitted in the gym or locker room unsupervised
- No wearing of jewelry allowed during your physical education class
4. ATTENDANCE - ENGAGEMENT - PERFORMANCE
The student's final grade is a reflection of engagement and performance throughout the term. Every student is expected to fully participate in all daily activities
- Unexplained absences will be considered cuts. Students are expected to bring a note explaining each absence upon their return to school.
- Lateness: Students are given 5 minutes at the start of the class to change into their PE uniform. Students will be considered late the allotted time.
5. MEDICAL EXCUSE
Students who are unable to participate in our regular Physical Education program must present a medical note to their physical education teacher during the first week of the semester or on the onset of the condition. The note should contain the physician's diagnosis, limitations, and/or suggested physical activities.
