Any NYS resident can get a NYPL eCard. This lets you borrow ebooks, audiobooks, magazines, and databases.

hi everyone want to show you how you can download Audible Book audiobook CD books and access near public libraries databases by getting your New York Public Library ecard busy card is been created and updated because of the situation that we are currently in so basically it is show you how to get your ecard now so you can start enjoying all the resources at New York public has to offer so the first thing you have to do is download app called simply e you can see it on my iPad screen on the computer here simply is free for download and just so you know that anybody in New York state can get New York public library card so when after you download simply e you're going to click on it and it is going to ask you what you want to do right so you want to read eBooks from your library rosborough and free books from your local library or you can use the simply e collection you can do that later on so what we're going to do right now is we're going to find our library and the wood Library we're going to find first is the New York Public Library you can also do this with Brooklyn Public Library I just want you to know that New York Public Library this barcode will allow you to access New York public databases as well as ebooks and audiobooks Brooklyn Park public libraries will allow you to access their audio books and ebooks but not their databases for all three New York City system because they all have different resources available and you can never have too much knowledge so we're going to go to the New York Public Library and basically the first thing it shows you is the ebooks and audiobooks letter of ailable just a just a selection of them there are hundreds of thousands of materials available to for you to use now you can search these books but you can't borrow them until you have a card so at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen there is a tadpole settings and you're going to click settings and you are going to click are on the New York Public Library and if you see there it says barcode pain and logging it's all empty because we don't have a library card number as of yet I do have a library card number I just and showing you this for demonstrations all the information that I'm going I'm not going to finalize the information because I don't want to get two library cards I just want the one so I'm going to go sign up the first thing you have to do is validate the fact that you are over the age of 13 and that you agree to the terms of service that New York public after you've done that you're going to click next takes a couple of seconds but they're going to do a location check to make sure that you are located in New York state it's a geolocation check and I am going to go out once and it's they successfully determined that I am where I say I am in New York so you can be in anywhere in New York state you could be at home in the five boroughs of New York City or you could be Upstate in seclusion as long as you are in New York state you have accident now you put your home address I'm going to put Townsend address just for demonstration purposes text me wild disciple not as fast as you guys then I'm going to click next it's verifying the address I will confirm it then I need to put my email know my name and then my email now it's very important that you put an email that you can check right away because that's where they're going to send you your barcode they're going to send the barcode to your email so I suggest U-Pull-It your Transit high school email and you need to create a username something that you're going to remember I also suggest your Townsend username basically because we use it all the time for school and a pen I am just completing 1 2 3 4 pin for this account that I'm not submitting write all this username isn't available to be physically because it's mine and another one so let's say I will quit 19 I will 19 cuz that's how old I want to be it's going to verify all of my information and then to get your barcode on what you click create then it will email you your it will email you your barcode and then you can get to borrowing and reading ebooks borrowing and reading audio books and accessing their digital databases if you have any problems setting up an e-card with public please do not hesitate to reach out to me and I will try and help you as much as possible happy reading happy listening happy searching
