2012 Glammy Award Finalists

At the 2012 Glammy Scholarship Awards, fifteen GG volunteers were recognized as finalists for The Daniel and Lucille Valerio Outstanding Volunteer Award. Of the fifteen GG volunteers honored, five were volunteers from the THHS GG Chapter. Below are excerpts from their essays about the rewards of being a GG volunteer:

Yaelin Caba:
"Rose was such a sweetheart and made me feel more confident about myself. Not only was I changed, but after we finished talking with her, I realized that her face was glowing with delight."

Jocelyn Hassel:
"Once I joined Glamour Gals, the concept of time struck me; at that exact moment, I knew my life would be changed into a fond appreciation for those milliseconds that I have thrown over my shoulder."

Kimberly Hassel:
"As I compare myself to the person I was two years ago, I realize that my first visit to Atria truly changed me! I have learned to step out of my shell and become more outgoing."

Rohanie Nukhai:
"I promised her to never take my school for granted. Despite all the collaterals, tests, homework, like Gale said, it will all be worth it. She was one of those very wise women. I could see myself going to her for advice if I ever need it."

Nuzhat Sadique:
"Glamour Galis is about learning life lessons and to learn and appreciate everyone in our community, old or young, because everyone has something to offer. Edith helped me to see that I can only hope that there is someone like her in everyone's lives."
